Company Directors

Terry Gormley
Job Title: Director

In 1986, at the age of 20, Terry started a promotional screen printing business, and it wasn't long before he had fashioned a brand of clothing called Powerhouse. In 1998, Terry moved to the USA to promote the brand there. After supplying a number of outlets, the exchange rate forced a halt to distribution due to being non-competitive. In 2000, he returned with his family to South Africa where Justin and Nadeen had been running the company for the past two years. Terry is also a founding member and director of a separate company called iSync Solutions - one of the leading job costing systems within the clothing industry.

Managing Director
Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Justin has been officially at the helm of Powerhouse Clothing Company as their Managing Director since 2006. However, his career with Powerhouse dates much further back than that.

Justin graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma in Accountancy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban before joining Ernst & Young. Here he completed his articles and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991. Justin spent two years travelling through USA and UK before returning to South Africa and joining the Powerhouse Clothing Company in 1996. He was initially employed to oversee the accounting function and had only been there a year before he was entrusted with the day-to-day management of the company when Terry Gormley left to further Powerhouse’s interests overseas. Over the course of the past 15 years Justin has provided leadership with regards to the company’s growth strategy, people development, business administration and profitability, nurturing Powerhouse to what it is today.

Nadeen Horwood is the Sales Director of Powerhouse Clothing Company, a position she has held since March 2007, although her career with Powerhouse started many years prior in mid-1996. Nadeen is the embodiment of what Powerhouse holds dear, recognition of talent and experience, and advancement of staff – she joined Powerhouse in their Sampling department, making patterns, overseeing the day-to-day running of the department and servicing their then only customer.

Since her appointment as a Director of the company, Nadeen’s focus has been on expanding the company portfolio through new business development, building relationships with the licenced brands Powerhouse represents, and staying ahead of the fashion curve. She spends a large portion of her time travelling internationally making sure she knows what her customers want, even before they know it. She works closely with a team of six account executives, fifteen designers and three large sampling rooms which currently services 12 different retail groups.

She holds a National Diploma in Clothing Production from the Natal Technikon, Durban.
